PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) GlossaryPCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) Glossary
Modifications to certain parts of the international application (description, claims and/or drawings) submitted by the applicant during the international and national phase of the PCT procedure. During the international phase, amendments should not go beyond the original disclosure, that is, they may not add new subject matter. Amendments may go beyond original disclosure if the national law of an elected State so permits. Claims may be amended upon receipt of the international search report. Description, claims and drawings may be further amended during the international preliminary examination procedure and/or in the national phase.
