The International Bureau publishes and thus discloses to the world the international applications promptly after the expiration of 18 months from the priority date. The published international application contains the full text as filed by the applicant, the international search report, and any amendments of the claims filed by the applicant under Article 19, as well as any declaration under Rule 4.17. If the international application is filed in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Russian or Spanish, the application is published in the language in which it was filed. Subject to certain conditions, the effects of the international publication of an international application shall be the same as those that the national law of a designated State provides for the national publication of unexamined national applications.
